Hey Kids be sure to enter our monthly coloring contest. Come in to Matties and get your entry form, take it home and color it as best as you can. Bring it back into Matties, we will hang it up and at the end of every month we will pick one winner in each age group. If you win you can treat your family to a treat at Matties.

We hope that everyday is special in our restaurant but sometimes we like to make our customers feel extra special with great events and promotions. These include: Mothers Day Champagne Brunch, “Daddies Doghouse” Fathers Day giveaway, ½ price gift certificates for Christmas and Graduation shopping, great specials all week long during Customer Appreciation Week in late May, and a Free Birthday dinner for you on your special day.

Homemade Bikini Contest

Every July we take one night to prove that we know how to throw a party better than anyone else, anywhere! The rules are simple: All contestants must make a bikini out of anything but cloth! That’s right, anything (or nothing)! As far as our events go this is defiantly the biggest. We close off the parking lot, set up the band, and the beer stands and party until all the bikinis are gone. Girls do you think you have what it takes to be crowned Miss Matties, all you have to do is win the biggest bikini contest in the country!

Congratulations to Jennifer Olson of Elko for winning the 2006 $10,000 Homemade Bikini Contest. Jennifer's bikini was made entirley out of Duct tape and wire rope. There were almost 3,000 people at Matties to see take in the contest. Thanks, Jennifer for helping to make it a record breaking bikini contest. Be sure to mark next year on your calander.

Frog Jumping was March 17th

What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than drinking a bunch of green beer and watching little green frogs race around the bar. Every year we get champion racing frogs from the Rhana Ranch in Twin Falls, Idaho and auction them off to the highest bidder. Then the fun begins! All of the frogs and their proud owners race in a bracket style competition until the ultimate frog is determined. And in true Matties style, the winner takes all. There is no room for second place.

DID YOU MISS FROG JUMPING 2006?

Our Frog Jumping was held on St. Patricks Day this year with a record crowd and record prize money. This group, with their champion frog, won $4,815

Mattie Gras was February 24th! Did you miss it?!?

Until New Orleans gets back on it's feet... Matties will take over! We guarantee to have (almost) as much fun as they do in The Big Easy! Mattie Gras happens every February and those who can remember all the fun talk about it for months after. We’ll furnish the beads, all you need is an appetite for fun … and please leave your inhibitions (and your modesty) at the door. Mattie Gras was February 24 this year.

Party Bus Trip

Although we love Elko, sometimes we just have to get away! But who wants to go out of town by themselves? When we leave town, we like to take 40 of our closest friends with us. Whether it is a Utah Jazz basketball game or a rock concert that we just can’t miss, look to us for a ride to all the “can’t miss” events around the area.

Beer Drinking Tournament

Everyone knows that the best beer drinkers in the world live right here in Elko. Every year we set out to prove who is the best of the best.

WARNING: Matties regulars are professional Beer Drinkers! This is not a contest for amateurs; please do not try this at home. (come into Matties and learn from the best)

Annual Anniversary Party

Matties opened on Memorial Day weekend in 1993. What kind of bar would we be if we didn’t celebrate our birthday? The entire week is customer appreciation week. And we top it off on Friday night with a birthday bash you will never forget (or never remember).
